He forced a man to drive him from Limerick to Portlaoise.
A man has been arrested after a hijacking incident in Laois.
The incident began when a man, sitting in his car in the O'Malley Park area of Limerick, was asked for a lifted by another man at about 5pm on Easter Sunday.
During the journey, the passenger threatened the driver with what's believed to a knife and demanded he drive him to Portaloise.
The driver managed to jump from the car as they approached a petrol station in Portlaoise.
He received minor injuries but was able to raise the alarm.
Gardaí arrested a man aged in his late 20s in Tallaght, shortly after 9 o'clock that night.
He's appearing before Kilmallock District Court in Limerick this evening.
