Man Arrested In Westmeath For Drunkenly Driving Horse-Drawn Vehicle

Driving such a vehicle under the influence in public is an offence.

Gardaí in Westmeath have arrested a man for being drunk in charge of a horse-drawn vehicle.

The arrest was recently made in Mullingar.

They're reminding the public that not only is it an offence to drive a mechanically propelled vehicle while under the influence of drink or drugs, it's also illegal to operate an animal-drawn vehicle or a bicycle under the influence in a public.
