Joe Drennan died following a hit and run in October last year.
A man who killed a Laois student in a hit and run in October last year, had filmed himself on a mobile phone driving at "reckless" speeds.
21-year-old Kieran Fogarty of Hyde Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick, appeared in court for a sentence hearing in Limerick today, for a number of offences including dangerous driving causing death and failing to notify the emergency services.
Mountrath's Joe Drennan was waiting at a bus stop when Mr Fogarty lost control of his car.
The court heard Mr Fogarty attempted to clean his DNA from the crashed car before leaving the scene.
The Judge said he had a lot to consider and would pass a sentence on January 30th.
