The Laois Offaly TD is contradicting a number of points made by Sinn Fein on his departure.
Brian Stanley says the Sinn Fein President is incorrect in asserting that his rights were protected throughout an internal invesitagtion into him.
The Laois Offaly TD announced on Saturday that he's leaving the party after 40 years due to what happened following a complaint being made against him.
Mary Lou McDonald is labelling Mr. Stanley's comments as disgraceful, and insists he was subject to a fair process.
He also contests Sinn Fein's timeline of events as to when the party was notified of the issue.
They say the complaint was made on October 2nd, while Mr Stanley insists it was lodged on July 26th in a bid to block him from running in the forthcoming general election.
The Vice-Chair of the Oireachtas Public Accounts Committee ,Catherine Murphy says it wasn't appropriate for Stanley to remain in place without informing the rest of the committee about the allegation:
