The Laois Offaly TD has launched another objection to comments made by the Sinn Fein President.
Former Sinn Fein TD Brian Stanley is accusing Mary Lou McDonald of abusing Dail privilege.
His comments come after the party leader addressed the issue of a complaint and counter complaint concerning the Laois Offaly TD in Leinster house yesterday evening.
Mary Lou McDonald is desperate to shift the focus from her own party’s practices.
That's Brian Stanley's response to the Sinn Fein President's comments in the Dail yesterday.
She said the Sinn Féin party member who made a complaint against the midlands deputy was "traumatised and distressed".
Mr Stanley says this was an abuse of Dail privilege. He insists the party failed to inform him of the existence of a complaint made against him when it was lodged on the 26th of July.
He's also accusing Sinn Fein of setting out to damage his reputation through inaccurate statements, insinuations and selective briefings.
Mary Lou McDonald believes the now Independent Laois Offaly representative should refer his 'serious counter allegation' to the Gardaí.
Mr Stanley has yet to do so.
Spokesperson on Finance Pearse Doherty says the only person who can clarify the nature of this complaint is Brian Stanley himself.
