A midlands animal welfare is appealing for government support in tackling the over-population of feral cats.
Athlone Animal Haven Ireland is behind the call, and estimates there are over 200,000 feral cats running wild around the country.
A feral cat is a stray cat which have never had contact with humans and are generally quite fearful of people.
