A Portlaoise chef faces hefty legal expenses after withdrawing a personal injury case against his employer, Supermacs.

43-year-old Tomasz Rolbiecki of De Vesci Court in Fairgreen alleged he was visibly scarred and sought special damages after a ceiling panel fell on him.

The fast food chain contested the case and he must cover the company's legal costs.
