Midlands Driver Caught Speeding 30km/h Over Limit On National Slow Down Day

40 drivers have been speeding in the first two hours of National Slow Down Day.

Over 5,200 vehicles have been checked for speeding within the first two hours of National Slow Down Day today. 

Of those, GoSafe detected 40 drivers travelling over the speed limit. 

One of those was caught in Westmeath on the N4 in The Downs, going 130 km per hour in a 100 km zone. 

One motorist was found doing 83 km/h in a 60 zone on the Dublin Road in Cavan Town, while one driver in Ballinglanna in Cork was stopped while doing a speed of 145 km/h in a 120 zone.
