Fire Brought Under Control In Westmeath

The blaze broke this morning.

Emergency Services have brought a fire under control in Westmeath. 

The blaze broke out at a building at the former AIT campus on Northgate Street, Athlone. 

It was contained quickly but there has been some damage caused. 

There have been no serious injuries reported. 

Acting Chief Fire Officer with Westmeath Fire and Rescue Service Pat Hunt says units are still at the scene:

Gardaí are not treating the fire as suspicious.
