Midlands Garda Chief Superintendent Hanging Up Boots After Four Decades

He's one of the most senior members of Gardaí in the region.

One of the most senior members of the Gardaí in the midlands is hanging up his boots today, after over four decades on the beat. 

Laois Offaly Chief Superintendent John Scanlon says he encountered 'every walk of life' during his 41 years in the force  and, despite facing those who had done 'horrendous things' he still believes that 'people are decent'.
