Theatre restrictions will remain in place.
Partners of those giving birth in Westmeath are once again able to attend to full birth of their child.
Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar has further eased restrictions after a guideline in April stated that they could only be called thirty minutes before the delivery of the baby.
Partners of mothers having a C-Section can now see and hold their baby on return to the ward following their baby’s birth.
They are advising however that restrictions for theatre units are still in place.
