Men in the midlands earned nearly €200 more than women every week on average in 2022.
New figures from the CSO shows the average man took home €860 per week last year, compared to €672 for the opposite sex.
Overall, the highest earners in the region reside in Westmeath, with an average figure of €782 - that's up 3% on 2021.
Laois is marginally behind with €777, which is a one percent increase, while people in Offaly earned €741 per week, which is up nearly 3% on the year prior.
Nationally, Dublin houses the highest earners, while people in Donegal went home with the smallest amount in the country.
