Midlands MEP Demands Clarity Over Irish Peacekeeping Troops

A Midlands MEP is questioning the French President on deploying Westmeath troops to Ukraine on a UN peacekeeping mission.

Soldiers from Custume Barracks in Athlone could be deployed to the country as part of the force in the event of a ceasefire.

Ciaran Mullooly also wants reassurances from President Emmanuel Macron on the question of Ireland's neutrality.
