Midlands MEP Raises Concerns On Impact Of Mercosur Deal

The deal poses potential loss of €55m per year for Ireland. 

A Midlands MEP is insisting on an assessment on the impact the Mercosur Deal could have on Ireland. 

Ciaran Mullooly first raised the issue in October and is now calling on the EU's Argicultural and Trade Commissioners to address the matter. 

The deal would see 99,000 tonnes of tariff free beef entering Europe from South America, causing a potential loss of €55m per year for Ireland.
