Midlands Receives Over €1m In Outdoor Project Funding

Outdoor trails and amenities in the region will benefit from the funding provided.

The midlands is set to receive €1.3 million in funding for outdoor projects.

The Infrastructure Scheme will see €692,750 allocated to Laois, some of which will be used to upgrade the walking and cycle routes in Durrow.

Lough Boora Discovery Park in Offaly will benefit from half a million euro in funding, while Westmeath has been allocated €113,400.

Some of that will see benefit the development of the Cycle Link from Dún na Sí to the Old Rail Trail

Junior Minister and Laois Offaly Fianna Fáil TD Sean Fleming, says, 'it is important that people make the most of these local amenities.'
