
A brawl broke out at an All-Ireland Senior Football Quarter-Final at the weekend.
A former justice minister is calling for gardaí to investigate the brawl that broke out at the All-Ireland Senior Football Quarter-Final in Croke Park yesterday.
Charlie Flanagan has described the incident involving players and backroom staff from Galway and Armagh as a "violent confrontation".
Galway player Damien Comer's eye was apparently gouged during the encounter by a member of the Armagh panel.
The Laois-Offaly Fine Gael TD says while he expects some in RTÉ and the GAA to reduce the incident to "handbags", but feels gardaí should investigate.

An investigation into a brawl is set to be launched by the GAA.
It will be among a number of other incidents set to be investigated by the GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee today.
