Midlands TD Calls For Government To Reverse Tax Exile Scheme

New measures will allow them to stay in Ireland longer than the normal 182 days.

A midlands TD is calling on the government to reverse new measures that will allow tax exiles to stay in Ireland during the coronavirus crisis.

People who leave Ireland to avoid paying tax are usually only permitted to reside in the country for 182 days per year.

But in light of the ongoing pandemic, Revenue is waiving that residency rule for any tax exiles who are currently in Ireland.
