Midlands TD Defends Sinn Féin Retirement Policy

Leo Varadkar describes it as a "business-harming, job-killing tax increase"

A Laois-Offaly TD is denying his party's retirement policy will damage jobs.

Sinn Féin wants to reduce the state pension age to 65 to protect people in physically demanding jobs.

This would be funded by increases in employers' PRSI, which Tánaiste Leo Varadkar describes as a "business-harming, job-killing tax increase".
