Midlands TD Says Taoiseach Should Step Down As Party Leader Before Next Election

Former Agriculture Minister Barry Cowen says Micheál Martin should step down as Fianna Fail leader before the next election.

He's also told the Sunday Independent the party shouldn't rule out a coalition with Sinn Fein any longer.

The Taoiseach sacked the Laois Offaly TD earlier last year, after controversy around a historical drink driving offence.

The paper's Political Correspondent Hugh O'Connell says Mr Cowen's comments will heap pressure on the Taoiseach:
