Midlands TD Warns Of "Social, Financial And Political" Impact Of EU Migration Pact

The Independent rep stands opposed to the pact.

Ireland would be worse off socially, financially and politically if it opts into the EU Migration Pact, according to a Laois Offaly TD.

Independent Carol Nolan says not enough consultation with the general public has been conducted on the issue.

It would see a number of measures adopted, including legally-binding process times for dealing with applications for asylum. 

A vote on the matter will be held today, after a five hour Dáil debate last night.
