More Focus Needed On Irish Defence To Be A Leading EU Member Says Security Expert

There are concerns over Russian vessels on the edge of Irish waters.

If Ireland wants to be a leading member of the EU, more focus is needed on our defence and security, according to a security specialist.

It comes as there are mounting concerns over Russian vessels at the edge of Irish waters. 

One Russian ship, the Yantar, has the ability to launch submersibles which can latch onto undersea infrastructure, such as cables.
