More Than 1,000 Midlands Properties Currently Hosting Ukrainian Refugees

These households are receiving the Accommodation Recognition Payment.

Over 1,000 properties in the midlands are hosting Ukrainian refugees.

New figures from Integration Minister, Roderic O'Gorman, show 1,074 households in the region are in receipt of the Accommodation Recognition Payment.

The scheme, which was introduced in July of 2022, offers €800 per month to properties accommodating Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection.

As of the middle of last month, there were over 16,000 active claims.

486 households in Westmeath are availing of the scheme - the figure in Offaly is 334, and 254 in Laois.
