The road is from Mount Street to Blackhall.
Westmeath County Council is set to recognise one of the county's most famous sons, by renaming a road after Joe Dolan.
The decision by a local authority follows a public proposal to name the road which received no submissions.
The road in question runs from Mount Street to Blackhall and will have official signs installed in the coming months.
The "Good Looking Woman" singer passed away in 2007 at the age of 68, with a statue and bridge already named after his memory in his hometown.
County Cathaoirleach for Mullingar Mick Dollard made the proposal - he says Mr. Dolan's family had a strong link with the council:
