Budget 2025: National Childcare Scheme To See Budget Increase By Over 40%

Full-time childcare costs will be reduced by more than €1,000 per year.

The budget for The National Childcare Scheme will to increase by 44%. 

This will lead to full-time childcare costs reducing by an average of €1,100 a year.

Parents will also see two double child benefit payments in November and December, that's added to a €400 lump sum on the working family payment 

Member of the Federation of Early Childhood Providers, and Director of Kilminchy School House in Portlaoise Sonya Duggan says while parents have received some positive news, the providers are waiting for further details:
