
A midlands TD has blamed the Covid pandemic for the increase.
The Covid Pandemic has indirectly led to an increase in excess deaths in Ireland.
That's what Meath-West TD Peadar Tobin is saying after it's emerged the number of deaths in quarter two this year rose by 39.2% compared to the same period in 2021.
Of those deaths, 6.7% were Covid-related, with cancer and circulatory disease the biggest killers.
