A LE Candidate wants to work alongside farmers and the IFA.
Each local authority needs to agree a set protocol for farm inspections with the IFA.
That's according to a Local Election Candidate for Portlaoise, Colette Byrne, who also wants to work alongside farmers with regard to managing the issue of ash dieback as it is dangerous and costly to fell trees on busy roads.
She says she wants to work woth farmers on traffic management in those areas, and on financial supports needed.
