Ministers Darragh O'Brien and Malcolm Noonan are paying a visit to the midlands today.
A historic site in the midlands is being unveiled today, following restoration works.
Meelick Weir and Walkway, along the Offaly/Galway border, were closed following severe storm damage in 2009, 2015 and 2016.
3.2 million euro has been spent by Waterways Ireland since 2017 to restore the weir, its 300 metre walkway and titling weir gates on the River Shannon.
Heritage Ministers Darragh O'Brien and Malcolm Noonan will officially re-open the popular attraction this afternoon.
