There still aren't enough people coming forward to report incidents of domestic violence and abuse.
Head of Services at Esker House Domestic Abuse Support Service, in Athlone, Deirdre Berry, is making the comments after new figures show there has been 340% increase in Garda response to instances of domestic violence cases in the past 10 years.
Last year alone saw over 45,000 such calls.
