The rare creature was found dead in a housing estate in Athlone.
A Westmeath wildlife rehab volunteer is calling on the National Parks and Wildlife Service to carry out a proper investigation into the suspicious death of a peregrine falcon.
Ruairi O Leocháin says the bird - the fastest creature on earth - was found dead by a resident in a housing estate in Athlone in mid-April.
He was unable to get specifics about how it died as it was only tested for Avian Flu.
He believes it should have received a full post-mortem, including toxicology testing:
