Offaly And Westmeath Venues Lead The Midlands For Bar Of The Year Nominations

The Old Warehouse and Gertie Browne's Bar and Bistro have been recognised in multiple categories.

Five midlands bars have come out with nominations in the 2024 Bar of the Year awards.

The Old Warehouse in Offaly and Gertie Browne's Bar and Bistro in Westmeath lead the way with three nominations each.

The Tullamore venue has made the shortlist in the Newcomer section, as well as Best Local Bar, and Gastro Bar.

While Gertie Browne's is selected in the Tourist Bar, Wine Bar, and Gastro Bar categories.

Elsewhere The Fisherman's Thatched Inn and The Heritage, both in Laois, and Peadar's Bar in Moate have picked up nominations.

The midlands venues nominated are as follows:

Hotel Bar of the Year - The Heritage, Co. Laois

Local Bar of the Year - Peadar's Bar Moate, Co. Westmeath, Old Warehouse, Co. Offaly

Tourist Bar of the Year - Gertie Browne's Bar and Bistro, Co. Westmeath, Peadar's Bar Moate, Co. Westmeath

Traditional Bar of the Year - The Fisherman’s Thatched Inn, Co. Laois

Gastro Bar of the Year -  Gertie Browne's Bar and Bistro, Co. Westmeath, Old Warehouse, Co. Offaly

Best Newcomer of the Year - Old Warehouse, Co. Offaly

Best Wine Bar - Gertie Browne's Bar and Bistro, Co. Westmeath

Outside Space of the Year - Peadar's Bar Moate, Co. Westmeath, The Fisherman’s Thatched Inn, Co. Laois
