Offaly Councillor Wants Approved Housing Bodies To "Take Pressure Off" Local Authority

Councillor and auctioneer John Leahy is concerned about the cost of the county's housing expansion.

Approved housing bodies should step in to help local authorities with excess housing stock - that's the view of an Offaly auctioneer.

Figures from Offaly County Council show that the local authority have 2,217 houses currently in their stock - an increase of 16% from 2019.

Over 700 of those houses are in the Birr area.
