Illegal dumpers can be fined or taken to court.
Offaly County Council is reminding the public that illegal dumping is a serious offence.
The council has received and investigated almost 800 cases of dumping and waste storage issues so far this year.
While monitoring the countryside for dumping can be difficult, environmental awareness officer at Offaly County Council, Caroline Clancy, says more and more members of the public are reporting incidents.
She says people are becoming increasingly intolerant to those destroying the local environment:
