Offaly Hosting Talk About Sacred Spaces And Heritage Sites

The Offaly History Centre will play host to a talk about a 111 year old controversy.

A talk around public access to sacred sites in Ireland is taking place tonight in Offaly.

"Sacred Space and Public Access: The Durrow Abbey Controversy of 1914" will focus on the historian Alice Stopford Green, and her published letter about restricted access to the site.

The talk takes place tonight at the Offaly History Centre in Tullamore's Bury Quay.

Historian Angus Mitchell is delivering the talk, and says it opened up a conversation at the time:
