Sinn Féin had suggest cutting the tax by 5%.
The Local Property Tax in Offaly will remain unchanged following a vote in the Council chambers.
A proposal from Sinn Féin Councillor, Aoife Masterson, suggested lowering the tax by 5%, which was defeated by 15 votes to four.
As it stands, the local authority will be keeping the 15% variation on the base rate.
Fianna Fáil's Peter Ormond, who put forward the motion to maintain the LPT, says the current rate will deliver an extra €3.74 million over the term of the council:
