Offaly Solar Farm Gets The Green Light

It will include the development of 48 solar farms.

A new solar farm has been granted planning permission in Offaly.

The site will cover 18 fields in the townlands of Lumcloon and Falsk, Gallen, and will see the construction of 48 solar panels.

The area will run across the Silver River and will also feature 19 transformers, under ground cabling and CCTV.

The plans have an operational lifespan of 40 years, after which the site will be decommissioned.

The proposal has been approved subject to 22 conditions.
