That's according to the CSO's Sexual Violence Survey for 2022.
One in ten people who have experienced sexual violence as an adult, did so in the last year.
For those aged 18 to 24 , the rate was more than three times greater, at 30 per cent, according to a new report from the CSO.
Nearly six in ten gay, lesbian or bisexual people reported sexual violence as an adult, compared to a quarter of straight people.
The CSO's Sexual Violence Survey for 2022 shows one in four women experienced sexual violence as an adult with a partner.
For sexual violence as an adult with a non-partner, the most prevalent location was in a pub, club or disco.
