Over 160 New Hospital Beds For The Midlands In The Coming Years

Most of those have been pledged to Regional Hospital Tullamore.

Midlands hospitals will see 168 new acute beds within the next seven years.

Health Minister Stephen Donnelly has pledged 72 new beds at Regional Hospital Tullamore, while Portlaoise and Mullingar will be allocated an additional 48, respectively.

Around the country, over 4,000 new beds will be delivered by 2031.

Welcoming the announcement, Tanaiste Micheal Martin says the extra beds will help to alleviate the pressures on the system:
