The brand new Electoral Commission are conducting a review.
There will need to be at least 171 TDs in the next general election.
That's according to lecturer of political geography at NUI Maynooth and Laois' Dr Adrian Kavanagh, as the Electoral Commission are reviewing constituency boundaries.
These boundaries include electoral areas for Dáil, General and European Parliament elections.
