Just shy of 100 people were caught last year.
Over €15,000 was paid in fines in the midlands for parking in a disabled space last year.
In Westmeath, 31 people were caught parked or stopped in a spot designated for those with a disability badge in 2019, leading to the payment of €10,210 in fines.
Meanwhile in Laois/Offaly, 63 offences were recorded, resulting in €5,025 in fines.
According to figures released under the Freedom of Information Act, gardaí around the country collected over €470,000.
The number of offences rose by nearly 300 on 2018, which Tony Maher from the Irish Wheelchair Association puts down to increased garda enforcement:
