Over €3m In Funding Allocated Across Midlands For Greenways

The funds will develop walking and cycling paths that will offer safer transport options.

Just over 3 million euro in funding has been allocated to local authorites across the Midlands for greenways projects.

2,115,000 is going to Westmeath County Council, followed by 855,000 for the local authority in Offaly and 50,000 going to Laois.

The funding is for developing walking and cycling paths that will offer safer and sustainable transport options.

Nationally, 67 million euro has been allocated to the Greenways programme to boost Active Travel funding.
