A petition calling for the development of a pedestrian crossing in a Laois village is nearing its target.

375 people have put their signatures on the online campaign, which pedestrians in Cullohill face danger everyday due to the lack of a crossing.

It says the problem is affecting all villagers who value their safety and that of their loved ones.

The petition was launched on April 25th, and has set a goal of 500 signatures.
