
The issue has been causing a stir among Laois councillors for a number of weeks.
Laois County Council have rejected a motion to include a public park in a new housing estate.
Fine Gael councillor Aisling Moran proposed the idea after a petition, signed by almost 800 residents, called for a green area to be installed as part of the project.
However, the 26-unit development in Court Square, Stradbally was given the green light to begin construction without the amenity.
