The future of plans for a massive housing development in the midlands is due to be decided today.
Akiyda Limited is seeking ten-year permission for the provision of 332 homes in the Ballykeeran and Cornamaddy area of Athlone.
The development will comprise of 172 two-storey houses, which will be a mix of three and four-bedroom units, and 160 apartments and duplexes.
The planning file also includes proposals for a new two-storey créche in the area.
Westmeath County Council is due to make a decision on the development later today.
