Plans For Offaly Convent To Become Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre

An application should be made to Offaly County Council in the next fortnight.

A former convent in Offaly could be turned into an alcohol rehabilitation centre. 

Serenity Home Ltd are behind the plan, with an application expected to arrive with Offaly County Council in the next two weeks. 

The two storey building is on main street in Kilcormac and contains over 15 individual rooms which will be repurposed from bedrooms and bathrooms. 

HSE figures for 2019 indicated that 7,546 people were treated for abusing alcohol in Ireland.
