The Portlaoise Hospital Action Committee is calling on Justice Minister and Laois' Charlie Flanagan to act on the continued uncertainty surrounding the Emergency Department in Portlaoise.
Plans by the HSE to close the department almost two years ago were shelved by Health Minister Simon Harris until after a consultation process.
However, that process is yet to get underway.
