The secondary school is among the first schools to incorporate the measures.
Students at a Laois school have had a positive response to restrictions on mobile phones.
Mountmellick Community School was among the early adopters of the measure, after introducing a policy which sees phones locked in pouches during the day.
Students still have the option to use their phone in certain situations, such as an emergency.
Education Minister Norma Foley last week issued a letter to all schools across the country on how a phone ban would operate.
