Potential Loss Of Up To €55M To Ireland As A Result Of Mercosur Deal

A Midlands MEP wants to see the Taoiseach more involved in opposing this.

Ireland could face a loss of up to €55m per year as a result of a new deal to be signed by the EU Commission President.

The Mercosur deal would see 99,000 tonnes of tariff free beef entering the European market from South America. 

French farmers along with other mainland European countries are preparing to protest the move on Monday.
