Public Urged To Make To Most Of HAS For Alternative Accommodation

The scheme will compensate people looking for alternative accommodation while still out of power at home.

People across the midlands who remain without power over the weekend are being encouraged to make the most of the Humanitarian Assistance Scheme.

The scheme allows for people to be reimbursed for alternative accommodation, such as a B&B or hotel, while they are without power at home.

Anyone availing of the scheme is reminded to provide a copy of the booking/receipt.

Nationally, 74,000 homes, farms and businesses remain without power following Storm Éowyn.
