Family Carers Ireland says their members deserve the €1,000 bonus.
Home care workers are the forgotten frontline of the pandemic.
That's the view of Catherine Cox of Family Carers Ireland, which is based in Tullamore, who also says their members were continually denied priority access to PPE, vaccinations and testing despite their work in suppressing the virus.
It comes as a €1,000 bonus for frontline healthcare staff has not been extended to those providing family care.
Ms. Cox says inclusion in the bonus is the least they deserve:
