
A midlands astronomy club member says it will benefit future missions.
A robotic explorer will take off on an eight-year, four-billion mile journey to Jupiter's moons later today.
The probe - called JUICE - will study Ganymede, Callisto and Europa, which are covered in a thick layer of water-ice.
It was due to launch yesterday but was delayed due to lightening.
